RoboDuckBuild

About this build

I'm Simon, and I design and 3D print things in the UK. In October 2026 I started building an XGO-Duck, and since we seemed to be among the first people outside Luwu Dynamics to try, it felt worth writing down.

"We" on this site is me and Claude Code, Anthropic's coding assistant, which did much of the CAD scripting, slicing checks and measuring-to-model work alongside me. The decisions, the printing, the photos and the mistakes spotted on the bench are mine.

Where the design comes from

  • Microduck by Pollen Robotics is the original small walking duck and its training setup.
  • XGO-Duck is Luwu Dynamics' 3D-printable version on an Arduino UNO Q, with their driver board, runtime and trained policies.
  • Our changes are the head and the print layout, described on what we changed.

This is an independent diary. It isn't affiliated with or endorsed by Luwu Dynamics, Pollen Robotics or Arduino.
